Polyp extension is getting ridiculous on some corals after using Acropower for a few weeks:

We've had a pair of these guys for nearly a year and they spawn every once in a while. Curious little buggers:

Admittedly, chalices look much better under LEDs but I simply ran out of room in my ADA that's lit with LEDs so I had to move them over to the Halide-lit tank. Even under full spectrum, these look pretty good though. I'm hoping a few of these will be at the next PROP auction.

Very nice pictures Eric. I pulled my camera out of the trash and beat it to pieces with a hammer after seeing these. At least I won't be tempted to take anymore and embarrass myself with inferior Polaroid like images.
Thanks for sharing your masterpiece tank and corals with us. We should have you speak at one of the upcoming meetings on both tank care and how to photograph properly. Good stuff! JP

Thanks Ryan!

You crack me up, Jeff! But thank you for the compliment. You're the master on coral/tank care though. I'll do a demo for taking/editing pictures or at least my workflow.

I love looking at all the pictures the good photographers put up on this forum, but before I start trying to learn to take that quality of pictures, I need to learn how to keep and grow my corals to look that good to photograph...

I dose bulk reef supply calcium and soda ash via a bubble magnus doser at 24 cycles per day for a total of 35mL or so. Manually dose magnesium as needed when testing. And, recently, Acropower 5mL per day manually when the lights are on.

Going to start monitoring and dosing potassium soon and might start iodine. Don't have a test for either yet though so I'm going to wait on those until I get a proper test kit.

I've been adding lugols to my tank for years. I do it about 2-3 times a week. I use 4 droppers full in my 300g. I notice a difference in color and growth when I don't do it.

Very nice shots! Giving me the ichy finger to take some shots again.

Absolutely! Dust off the camera and start snapping some shots!

After giving my tank to M-6 hundred and seeing these.... I really want to start up a nano tank :(

I know where he lives, we can get that tank back and in prime condition! :lmao:

Seriously though, set up a nano and start a build thread. You know how fun this hobby is and it's a great community.

Good to know, thanks!

Very Nice!

Thanks Chris!
