New placed bubble tip anemone not wanderingwa

Hi all,

I bought a bubble tip anemone three days ago. I placed it on the sand bed near a rock full of crevices. However, he has not moved at all. Despite the lack of movement he looks great. He has a bright green color and seems to be very healthy. Since he is on the sand beg near the rocks, he is not strongly attached - I guess an anemone can not attach itself to sand...
What are your opinions about anemone placement? Should I move him to a rock or should I just wait? I know that anemones are mobile animals and that they usually wander on the aquarium..

Thank you,

Lucas

Is it attached to any rock work at all, either above or under the sand? If he is happy and you haven't had to lower your flow for him I would leave it there. If it becomes unhappy it wil probably move itsself into the rock crevice.

He is leaning against a rock, but his foot is entirely on the sand...He seems happy there, maybe it would be better to just leave it alone.
Do BTA climb up rocks? Just wondering how hard is for an anemone to do it.

They climb up rocks no problem, I have one that's hiked from the top of tower, down to the sand bed, up another tower, under an over hang (it was hanging up side down for a couple days), down the joining tower and then up the over flow, and has finally found a stop on a tower, at least I hope it has.

I had mine climb to the top of the glass. then commit suicide as he let go and got sucked into the power head. lesson learned, turn off power heads until he gets settled on a stable rock...

Good Luck

I'm going to have to say no to turning off powerheads man... Once they settle out its because its an optimal spot for them because of flow light and any number of other reasons. If it settles and then you alter the flow by turning powerheads back on it will more than likely move again if its not happy.
