Im getting sick of my current system, my return is powered by a powerhead, which gives no current and so much backpressure down back through the return. So now i want to change it, here is my old system,
As your can see the pump takes up too much room in the refugium and sucks up all the sand etc. I want to change this and add i new skimmer. Here is what i want the new setup to look like.
As you can see i added a Durso Standpipe, and i thought of sumthing, why not hook the skimmer output to the return piping, this wa it automaticly creates a current pulling the water into it?, can anyone hel in pointing out flaws in this? The skimmer output pip wont go throught the wall but because i can shou you a 3-d image you cant see the width of the fuge.
What do you think of my new system?.
Ok here is my biggest problem now my return pump. Im gettign rid of the power head and getting a 20,000L/h ponp pump. 20,000l/h pump you say, that is too much or a return, but i will be dividing the return into 5 or so outputs creating supe good water flow, making me have no powerheads in the tank. But i would love to get a sequence, but no australia cant get them, so all i can get are these,
How can i modiy that to suit my second diagram? could i put a cap over it or somthing, a pipe reducer?
