New Powder Brown Tang

Bryan H.
Just picked him up yesterday. He is probably about 2 inches. He looks to be healthy, but I like to fatten him up a bit. My sail fin eats everything. So it's hard to base a diet from my experience with him.
I was planning just a mix of nori, formula one pellets and some frozen veggie food you get from Petsmart.
Any advice for the Powder Brown? Anything I should be feeding him or not be feeding him? I have never owned one before.

His diet should consist of the same foods your sailfin eats. Your list looks like a good start

Formula 1 and 2 frozen cubes, frozen mysis, Thera A, Prime Reef frozen cubes, maybe some flake, some fresh meaty food (squid, clam, shrimp etc cut up) but always remember the GREEEEEEEENS. And reds and browns. ;) Go to your local asian market and get some nice nori - not the stuff with the extra garbage (roasted).

Don't take this the wrong way - I say that because I know this is going to sound like an attack - but shouldn't you already know a fish's diet BEFORE you own one? I hope he's in qt as well...

What size tank is he going into? Is he going to be roommies with the sailfin?

TampaReefer said it right...and definitely get some nori. I feed my PB a 3X2" sheet of nori every other day and the regular meaty diet that the rest of the fish eat daily. PB's do like greens, but they aren't quite as herbivorous as some of the other species of tangs so they definitely appreciate a varied diet.

I have a pretty good idea of what his diet should be. I like to ask these questions because I don't know what I don't know, and I would rather not learn the hard way. The Powder Brown will be roomies in my 120.
The fish list is;

Sail fin tang
Powder brown tang
pair of pur clowns (like ever other reef tank)
6- line wrasse
Lawn mower blenny
Rusty pygmy angel
royal gramma
2 chromies.

Mostly small fish besides the two tangs
