New Powerhead

Hey,
I saw these powerheads talked about in the DIY forum. The top one puts out 1200GPH in a stream type. It uses a prop, like the Tunze or MJMods. It comes with a magnet and it is only 49.99 for the 1200GPH model. I plan on ordering one or two next week to try them out. One for the bottom of the tank and one to replace my MJmod.

how do they compare to the maxi mods???

They supposedly have less flow than a maximod, but wider flow. Also, this looks a little more small fish friendly. I lost a very healthy potters to my Maxi-Mod and planned on replacing it ever since I will order one or two of these next week.There are a couple threads in the DIY forum and the equipment forum as well. Those threads have people in them that own them. Also, it sounds like you can take your maxi mod and move the modified impeller/magnet assembly and get more output than the standered maxi-mod. With that mod you still have the start in reverse problem. without the mod you don't have that problem.

they already have enough flow with the current mod cant imagine more flow out of the damn things.
