New quarantine tank questions

I will need to quarantine as many snails/hermits/crabs/shrimp I possibly can while I treat my main tank with "interceptor treatment" for Red Bugs.
I have a 10 gallon quarantine tank set up now and it has been up for a couple weeks now. Parameters look ok. It is barebottom. My question is since the 10 gallon quarantine tank is only a couple weeks old, there is not any algae in it. What will the snails feed off of? Will they survive for 3 weeks in there?

QT the cucumber too. Setp a light (even a $20 cheapy), or if possible move your QT tank where it will get some sunlight.

I put a light on it last night...wont the cucumber need sand though? The QT tank is barebottom?

Same question about my fighting conch? Does that need to be quarantined as well?

I dont Quarantine snails, but you can, they can also carry unwanted stuff into the main display.

I would think the cuke will be fine as long as it has some food to graze upon.

Does anyone know if I can save myself the trouble of trying to catch my snails out of my main tank? This alone will take weeks.

I don't know your answer but can't you just put some seaweed sheets in the QT tank? it would keep the little buggers from starving even if it isn't their main choice while the other algae grows...
