thanks

thanks

thanks for all the kind comments. my ultimate goal in this hobby is to help people do the right thing and don't get discoraged when something goes wrong. i don't know everything all i try to do if help and my moto is " what works best for you ". i'll try to answer any questions or help in any why i can. so just pm me or call me and we will try to fix it. for megatsea have you tried to use a single edge razor blade? what i need to ask if it is acrylic or glass. if glass use blade and hold it at a 45 and it will not scratch the glass. and for the hair algea have you tested for phosfates and silicates and are you using a rodi? mexican turbo's work good but the are he-man's and can knock over rocks. lettuce nudi work pretty well. and how often do you change your water? sorry so long winded just bored:)

Hi, sorry haven't replied earlier....been finally busy at work, with this great weather .
Yes, I use a mag and razor...I just really want that bigger tank:)I have a few tough spots that I battle with corraline on the glass. My 2 year old turbo died 3 weeks ago....he will be missed(:
I do have about 20 mixed snails and hermits. Not counting baby snails showing up here and there.
It is time for my monthly Purigen or Phosphate Sponge .I am winning a bit as I pull out clumps of algae, and scrub the rock when needed. The most difficult spot is that the Sinularia rock is covered with LHA and I try to keep it trim.It gets so unhappy when i tug at the rock or try to put it in a bucket to trim. I might consider a Molly, as a last resort.
I change out 5 gallons weekly in small batches. My tests are good, and my ro/di unit tests zero on distilled/ 13 on RO.
I have noticed my Ca down since I switched to reef crystals from IO ....odd or co-incidence. Never had Ca below 450 before.
PH barely 8. All new sand, and scrubbed rock as of 2 months ago. Just plugging along I guess.
Thanks for everyones help and posting the clips for me!

tank

tank

well with colliane sorry misspelled, thats a good thing. and i hear you about that bigger tank. i had 2.5 gallon to a 210 and the smaller ones do alot better. what size tank are you looking to get? i just tore my 125 down due to energy cost. it was costing me 125.00 a month. i,m now setting up a 20 gallon long to keep my mind busy until i find a custom cube that i want. anyhow keep that ph up. at least 8.3 during the day and no lower than 8.0 in the middle of the night. have you test for phosphates out of you tap? mine are really high due to being on county water. i run a 7 stage with dual di's and keeps my algea under control. also what do you run you temp at?

Count me in...I'm in Ormond. Boostable would probably be interested too, he's in Debary. I have a 16' boat for outings too.

I have the air water ice RO/DI unit. Temp 79degrees.
I feed 2 large flakes each morning and a tini piece of frozen(thawed) uncooked organic shrimp to the star serpent every 3 days...
I need an fuge but waiting for a 40 gallon as an upgrade in the fall.....

I go with the flow by reading and researching RC! If it weren't for you guys, I would have quit a long time ago when the tank was empty!
Have a good weekend everyone.
