new ritteri

i came cross a fab ritteri and didnt hold back my desire to bring it home

i quarantined the previous one into a 40g quarantine tank which i guess i'm convertin to a mag tank. it still suffers inflation and deflation circle

i only see this color morph from online commercial

its now in tank after 2 days, showin no sign of inflation and deflation circle. but it moved into a crevice between 2 rocks, shadin itself from light

this is how it looks like after an hour. it floated a while--i turn off all the powerheads--and then settled on the flat rock. then it moved right under it

I had one like that a few years ago. Keep everything as stable as possible. Try dimming the amount of light in the tank and acclimating it to your light intensity. I remember mine was doing fine for a while and then went on a rapid decline. Best of luck though!

i guess its acclimatin itself to the lightin

its now squeezin itself into the cervice and seemingly movin out per inch a day

it shrinks in the morning, kinda like ballin up then stretchin out in the afternoon and at night

a second thought--could it be a malu rather than a ritteri? coz its tentacles r fairly shorter than usual

I check for ritteri anemones just about everyday on the web. If you got this from blue zoo you almost didn't get it lol. I got on the site that morning the and it wasn't there. Then I checked that afternoon and it was sold. I was so mad. I saved the pick I liked it so much. You are so lucky. Beautiful nem.

it turns out to be a heteractis crispa

i relocated it on sand and it looks much happier

since the clowns has hosted, they presumably r perc's rather than occ's

considerin if im to move back the ritteri in quarantine

Sweet Lord that is beautiful...... my new tank will have a Mag or Gig... I've been saying this for months, but that is a beautiful nem!!! Congrats my friend, take good care of it and keep taking pictures.

In the first pic I was sure it was a mag based on the tentacles. However, in the last pic it looks like malu. Column and attachment seems to be the best way to id.

thank y'all

so can i remove my ritteri back from the quarantine? there won't be any problems, huh? about coexistence of a ritteri and a malu?

holy gee!

the nem floated today and finally stuck itself to the rock where i was planned to put back my ritteri on

don't know if its goin to float again
