New Rose Bubbletip and 2 Percula Clowns

I received 2 very small Percula clowns and a rose bubble tip. The bubble tip has stayed close to were I put it and is doing well. Its interesting that the Bubble Tip goes between the rocks and hides a bit at night but comes back up during daylight.

The clowns were smaller than I thought they would be. One was missing the first night but I found it in the overflow and since then is doing fine. Both are eating well and doing well.

However, they stay only at the top and have not ventured down yet, at least not that I know of. The other fish in the tank are 4 to 10 times bigger but have not been picked on at all.

So do they stay at the top because they are afraid of the fish down below? Or something else?

Comfort I believe. I have a passive tank with a very small clown and a bigger clown. The small one came much later than the bigger one, and the bigger one is very gentle for a female. He stayed at the top for a while, and still does when I approach the tank, but then starts moving around, he's since come down and is trying to find a host, about a week after I got him. If they're breathing well, I wouldn't panic too much.

From what I've read it's a typical thing, but I may be wrong.

I have the bubble tip and a large toadstool if they ever make their way down.

No breathing issues. They are doing well.

That's very typical behavior. They'll venture out & explore more as they get comfy. I had one that stayed on it's side up behind the powerhead for weeks. Good luck getting them to become a bonded pair!

Since they are very small and are always together I think the chances are good that they will be a bonded pair.
