new RTBA question and pic

so today i got a new rose bulbtip anemone, and i had the perfect spot layed out for him but i guess he didn't like the spot so...he moved around and it seems like he settled kind of in a crevice between 3 rocks should i be worried at all??? seems like a odd spot but all the tips are really bulb-ing out...i figure just let him do his thing right...

Looks ok I would let it be and wait to see if clowns host in it

baffles me now the lights went out and its starting to deflate a little for the night....that i noticed most of the foot is on the sandbed.....i always thought that bulbtips were rockbased anemones

it was totally like almost rolling in the sandbed i know your not supposed to move or touch or anything for the first week or so but i tried to move it to the otherside of the tank some to hope he will stay in the general area...i dont have any powerheads pointed at it directly but it seems to always move to the side of the tank that has the koralia 4 on it....so im baffled if it wants more or less flow....

It's still acclimating let it go where it wants unless it is in danger. It sure is a beauty, and looks very happy.

Looks pretty good.

Don't be surprised if in a couple of weeks/months it no longer has the bubble tips -- nothing you are doing wrong. It just happens, and no one has been able to figure out exactly why.

heck i woke up this morning and found its foot crawling over a candycane coral...ugh.....on the other half of the tank......wow i never thought these guys would move so much

man i would be mad if the candy cane is dead...that was my first coral lol.....welp shoot!it just looks like it crawled over it...cause it was just kind of the side of it....shrug

Let it do whatever it wants. you're lucky that yours looks like that if you just got it. My GBTA looked HORRIBLE the first week I got it because of the acclimation process. It was a big ball of foot it looked like. I could barely see any of the tentacles. They move until they find a spot that THEY like, not a spot that you like. More often than not, it will go to the place that you do not want it to go. Just the luck of the draw. I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it just started looking normal this weekend. Give it time to get used to the tank and make sure your powerheads are covered because if it is floating around and gets caught in one, it could turn into a mess. Be prepared to move corals away from it too. Welcome to the world of anemones. Your rose is beautiful.

here's a question i know your not supposed to feed it or what ever but question is when im feeding the tank food does float somewhat near him and he did suck up a small mysis shrimp or 2......is this bad?

That isn't bad at all. And is a good sign.

The reason to wait for feeding it directly is because it takes energy to eat, want to let them settle in before wasting energy on eating. But if yours is doing that on its own, you can try so SMALL pieces.

wow eating is a good sign huh even clownfish?......omg i cant belive this....i woke up this morning with the anemone totally closed up im like no big deal.....my baby clown is missing........he's been in the tank for over a month not had one problem.....i think he tried to host and got eated!?!? how common is this?

jubjubrsx, how did you anemone proof your Koralia powerheads? I have Koralia's in my tank too but I can't figure out how to anemone proof them. Also hope you can find your clown! Although, what kind of clown was it?

oh it was my bad after about a hr of digging and what not i found him hiding behind a rock in my fuge...wow i was so relieved...

as far as anemone proofing my koralia's i put the snail guard on the front of them. that little piece that comes with the powerheads that it seems like no one uses and i also put them high up in the tank.

it also looks like my anemone settled im kind of shocked i thought he would of wandered around longer..but funny enough looks like he picked the exact spot my candy cane was residing...bummer oh well anemone > candy cane haha!
