New seahorse tank

I want to start a seahorse tank. 26 bowfront. My concern is connecting it to my 90 gallon reef. Is that a good idea? I know temp might be an issue.

If not, what is a good hangon filter that can be used. I have an extra emperor 400? should I use a skimmer?

You dont NEED a skimmer, but it would be nice. I know a lot of people who have wonderful seahorse tanks and no skimmer. As for a power filter, anything would work... I dont even have a power filter on my tank. The only filtration it has is a skimmer. That along with live rock, my fuge, and sand is enough

I don't want a sump for this tank, I guess I could use an HOB refuge and the Marineland Emporer and I should be ok.

whatnot45, i see that you have a 29 gal.
i am looking into buying an established (6 mon) 29gal. tank that has a aqua c remora hang on skimmer and 30 lbs. live rock + sand (few corals & few fish). if i added some tonga branch you think i will not need a filter? i would also add some macro algae, i think. do you feel this setup would work long term? thanks.
