Just had to share my new skimmer with someone:

It is a PCI Octopus RPS-3000 Recirculating Protein Skimmer with Needle wheel impeller. 7.8" Diameter, 29.64" High, Footprint 9" x 21"

I can't wait to fire this puppy up!!!! Here are some pics!

I added my Motorolla cell phone for scale.
This is how tall it is:

This is looking inside the collection cup:

This is for those of you that are interested in the pump specs:

So do you think this is overkill for my current setup?
Main tank = 55 gal
Sump = 30 gal
Fuge = 10 gal
Total water volume = 95 gal

Good thing I am getting a bigger tank the fall!

:D

Can a skimmer be overkill? Looks good to me, but you may want to watch out one that big may split the H2O into just H & 2O.

LOL :D

What is it rated for? That one is still being debated. Manufacture claims up to 400gal with a heavy stock. But it is being tested against a Euro-reef RC500 (500+gal cap), and so far it is running neck and neck with it.

Hoping to plumb it in tomorrow, and fire it up tomorrow night or saturday
