I just picked this piece up at my LFS a couple days ago. Not quite sure wut it is, but it was fairly cheap so i got it. My first guess was ecinata, but i'm new to sps and don't know many of the names. can someone help me with an ID? thanxs in advance.
Echinata might have thinner branching, My guess maybeee Loripes (not sure that is spelled right). I have a green Loripes that is smaller but looks like it is growing like that.
Nice piece! Looks to me like a deep water acro. Something along the lines of an acropora Caroliniana. I would definitely say no to Echinata. However the colony is still pretty young and needs more development in order to get a better ID.
