New Squamosa Question

Well my Squamosa is looking good. I do have 2 questions though.

1. I had it on the bottom directly under the light which is a 150W MH. It is about 16 inches from light to clam. The clam scooted over to the right about 5 inches. Will it get enough light?

2. It will not sit on the flat rock that I placed just below it under the crushed coral. I have tried 2 times and it moves off of the rock. Is it ok to leave it on the CC?

IME Squamosas and Derasas scoot all over the place until they find a place they like- it sounds like it will have enough light in the spot you describe; I'd resist the urge to really touch it at all and let it settle; it should be fine so long as it can remain upright and expand fully without obstruction or getting stung by other residents.
