new stand idea?

hey guys im looking for a good 55g stand plan....saw some online and wondering if ya guys have any others....i thought i'd make it the hight mine is and put it againt my tank....drain the water and slide the tank onto the new stand, take the old one out and then slide the tank and new stand into place........should work out im hoping

You probably wouldn't need to make it the same height if you're going to drain the water. 55s aren't all that heavy. Not saying you should do it by yourself, but if you wanted a different height I wouldn't forgo that just so you can slide it when you can just as easily get a helper and pick it up.

yea i figured it would be around 170lbs and with a helper could lift it....i was just assuming that i couldnt get a helper......if i made it taller though im not sure what hight though....need to think of what.......would there me a hight i shouldnt pass? i cant think of it being a problem being that it isnt a hugh tank but again im not sure

Gotcha. The only thing I can think of with the height is that 55s are only 12" wide, so that might play into stability at some point. However, what that point is I'm not sure. I would think it would have to be fairly high before becoming unstable, but again... I'm not sure.

i dont think i want to go much higher then it is now......maybe 5 inches higher only if i can.....that would give me extra room and make it wider then the one i have now.....then i can in time add a bigger sump and auto top off tank and stuff
