New style phosban reactor, worth it if I already own the old one?

LIke the title says. I'm tempted to get the new style phosban reactor. Is it worth it over the old one if I already have one? It does get to be a pain to open all those thumbscrews, and as a result I don't change out my media as often as I should.

I know, which is why I rarely change the media on the old one. But is it that much better. That much easier to get into?

Heck yes. It takes about 2 seconds to unscrew the top - literally. I love it WAY more then the old thumbscrew version. Definately worth the upgrade IMO.

I had the old unit until the nipple on the broke, then I got the newer model. I like the old one better, the flow is more distributed on the bottom across the dispersion plate than the new, therefore the agitation on the surface is better. I get air trapped inside the new one and have to (while running) bounce it back and forth to release the trapped air. I'd like to switch back to the old.

I have the new TLF reactor and I fount that if you replace the foam discs with denser ones you get a better flow, and you place the top disc above the upper plastic disc it is alot more effective and stopping chunks going into the tank.

you could send me your old one i'll pay shipping.

I was borrowing it from a fellow reefer to try out until I decided if I wanted one. I then bought one and gave his back to him. I think he is going to use it for carbon now.

Myself, for how little the new one costs, I think it would be worth picking up the new one for the conveniance.
