New sump and skimmer could use some help.

So I'm just making sure everything is normal. Here is my situation.

I have had a Red Sea max E serious tank which is a rear sump tank for about 3 months and everything was running mint. I just upgraded the tank with the sump kit 3 days ago. I purchased a new skimmer the day before the sump and started to break it in with old tank water and the skimmer started producing a foam head and skimmate almost immediately.

Now the skimmer won't produce a foam head at all just bubbles in the neck, is it possible since adding the sump and also adding 10-12 gallons of fresh salt water there is nothing to skim yet since the new water diluted whatever was in the current tank? The skimmer is a bubble magus G5.

Any help is appreciated, Ryan.

If the water is too clean you won't get a good foam head on it. About an hour after I feed, especially broadcast feed my corals, the foam head on my skimmer is way bigger and darker than before feeding.

I'm guessing that's what's going on. My phosphates and nitrates were low before I added 10-12 more gallons to the system.
