New sump

I am currently in the process of upgrading to a new sump for my 90 gallon AGA with mega flow overflow.

My current setup is an acrylic wet/dry filter with some modifications

When I removed the bio-balls and drip tray, noise was an issue, so I used a trash can to diffuse bubbles and quiet sound. With the water entering below sump level and cover on acrylic sump, the noise was not too bad.

I just bought a 30 gallon AGA for use as a sump. I'm going to get glass cut soon and am trying to see im my plans are any good or if I am overlooking anything.
The sump plan will be: intake/skimmer section - bubble trap (3- 10" tall, over-under-over) - Refugium - 10"baffle - return

I am worried about the noise in the water entering the sump. On my current setup I have tried lots of plumbing configurations and only the current method seems to work best and create the least amount of noise and bubbles. I have the AGA overflow

that works great and has little noise from the tank overflow. My plan is to have the water enter through an acrylic cover plate into a 4" x 4" x 11" corner box attached to the sump sides and bottom, that will flow over the top into a 5" x 5" x 12" box lifted off the sump bottom by 1". The acrylic cover plate will sit over the 5" corner box to absorb the sound and make the bubbles have to travel down under the glass. It is sorta like a small bubble trap with a lid. The water in this section will be 10" high, with the water supply bubble trap raising to 11" high. (hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to explain) In the following pictures you will see my bubble diffusing/sound dampering idea done with cardboard. Note that the outer 5" square will be lifted and inch off the sump bottom and the inner 4" square will be attached to the sump bottom forcing water up over the glass and then back down. What do you think?
