New T5 on 55gal. Question

I just orderd a 4 bulb T5 from Reef Geek and am wonder if this will be enough light. I would like enough light to keep alot of different corals, hard & soft and even a clam. Here is the bulbs I ordered. This is on a 55 gal.
1- Actinc Plus
1-Aqua Blue Special
1-Super Actinic
1-Aqua Sun.
The LFS all tell me I need to run a 6 bulb setup but Greg tells me all I will need is this 4 bulb. Any help ?

The bulbs are 54 watts, so this will be enough to have a clam?

yup....IMO. The bulbs have individual reflectors???? Just curious...

How deep is the tank and where do you intend on putting the clam (most like sand)..... If your tank us under 20" deep you should be in good shape..4 bulbs are fine. A 6 bulb unit is going to be a min of 16" wide or use 14-15" with decent reflectors and would be like looking at the surface of the sun in a 55 ;-)

My tank is 18" deep and I would put the clam on the sand. Thanks for info, I now know that I made a good purchase.
