Hello RC members! Im very new to saltwater aquariums and i have a few questions. If there are any questions i forget to ask let me know lol. First question: I have 8 unused 10gallon aquariums ideally id like to use one or two for nano reef setups, what are good begginners for nano reefs ( fish and inverts or species spefic)? Second question: Ideally id like to use one or more of my empty tanks for sumps and refugiums, any thoughts on how to possibly connect multiple tanks to create one continuous system(i.e 3 tanks sharing a sump and refugium and increasing overall water volume)? Third question: I'm a florida resident, what native species would you reccomend for a beginner to keep?

One more thing, im also going to be purchasing a much larger aquarium next week for my bday something between 55 and 90 gallons. What beginner fish could be kept in a tank of this size? Id really like community fish if possible. As you van tell i have plenty of time on my hands for maintenance. Thanks sin advance for reading!

Welcome! As far as connecting the 10 gallons together if can be done but it would be cheaper and more efficient to buy a new tank. You would need pumps and PVC or tubing in order to do it.
Are you looking to catch your own livestock?
As far as the new tank I would go bigger if possible. You have a bigger choice of fish you can keep, however, the equipment associated with a larger tank also becomes more expensive.
To research out livestock there are lots of website to help with that. Sites like liveaquaria and WetWebMedia offer good advice.

Thanks for your input! After doing a few more weeks of research i managed to make a decision i ended up finding a 40gallon breeder at the flea market bc the tank i was eyeballing non craigslist was scooped up by another buyer grrr. Im still holding out for a larger tank it just may come later on. I have tons of pvc at home already from a previous project. Im still limited on livestock choices, and i had considered collecting my own livestock since i have a recreational fishing license. We will see how that goes i gotra get with my diving buddy and see what they havw been up to.
