Starfire really makes a difference when looking at clams. The Maxima is an incredible metalic green blue and gold (mostly green) looking down through the water. Through my normal glass the clam just looks blue. My two other crocea's look blue but really one is green and one is blue.

Very nice tank and pic's. I like the Monti placement. Be careful with that Star,I know it is supposed to be so called "reef safe", but I found out differently. Also I saw a very nice Moorish idol with a really long streamer at RM yesterday. May want to call to see if it still there, but it was one of the nicest ones I have seen in a long time.

Tank is looking good Ben.

OK, spill the beans on this starfish. I have had one for a while now and haven't noticed any bad behavior.

The tile starfish, potters angel, green mandrin, and maxima came from rucker32. Potters and starfish were fine in his reef for about 9 months. I love the tile star and it's very bright purple color and design.- have not seen anything bad so far.

My pocillopora pulled in the majority of his polyps today and other sps doesn't seem to appreciate their new home like they did the 55gallon yet.

I started to see some light brown algae starting up on the sand. Some cyano bacteria made its apperance on some rocks as well. Water tests show n0 NH4, NO2, NO3. I pretty much all new saltwater when I transferred from the 55.

I used all new rock that had been in rucker32's tank for 9 months. I couldn't accept aptasia in the new tank so I nuked most of my rock and have the rest sitting in a 20 gallon tank with coral frags.

LPS: euphilia, clams & acans love life right now. Chalice and montipora are great.

I had one for a long time without any issues. Then one day I started to see is hanging out on the base of a few of my across. Grab it and turned over and saw that it had it guts? out and the acro had what looked like digested areas.

This was my experience. Does not mean that every tile is the same, as you know..
