New tank build equipment checklist help

Starting my first reef tank in a very long time soon. 55-75 gallons. Trying to get my equipment in order. I don't have room for a sump so it will have to be HOB. I know I need a protein skimmer, power heads, heater, and lights. Do I need a filter? Is there anything else I am missing?

RODI unit or source for purchasing, salt, refractometer for testing salinity, rock, sand (optional), test kits, patience and knowledge. Probably more but that's what comes to mind this morning before coffee.

I too would recommend getting a RODI unit. I have the Bulk reef Supply 6 stage 150 gallons a day Unit

a little steep price wise but RODI water eliminated all the issues i faced in my first year in the hobby.
