New Tank Build

Well my nitrites were at zero today. Saltynoob, I did keep my ammonia up until I started to see nitrites fall and nitrates start to climb. In fact I got my ammonia higher than I originally intended because I was reading the test kit wrong. I will keep your advice in mind if I decide to do another tank though. Ammonia and nitrites both at zero and nitrates slowly falling. I decided to go ahead and add one of my pairs of clowns to the tank tonight and watch to see how things go. If everything goes well I will then proceed with other additions. Maybe add the coral frags I got later this week and then the other pair of clowns still sitting in the qt tank next week. Here is a pick of the pair I added. One is a Tangerine Clownfish and the other is a DaVinci Clownfish. You can see some sand blowing around in the tank because I was playing with the powerheads some a little earlier and they kicked up some sand.

So far the tank is doing really well. I have added a few corals that I picked up at Custom Reef Creations and thought I would share a few pics.
First a nice sized rock of zoanthids. The orange ones are much brighter in person, and have a nice glow to them.

I also need to get a remote for the shutter so I don't shake the camera. LED's are turned down pretty low so the shutter has to stay open for a little while. I also just need to work on my camera skills.

Thought I would post some pics of the corals I picked up on vacation in Orlando. I have got to learn how to take better pics

I am enjoying your build thread!

Try macro and do not use the zoom. Change the white balance to daylight and take pics with whites only and leave the actinics off. Hopefully that helps.

thank you very much guys. its so hard to be patient and I need to slow down a bit i think to let the tank keep up with the bioload. i will be adding a purple tang some time soon that i have already paid for and just need to pick up. maybe this weekend after a water change and if everything seems to be in check.

Some more pics. I picked up my bubblegum monster chalice i purchased a while back and while I was at Custom Reef Creations I picked up a yellow carpet anemone. Some one please stop me before I go completely broke.

Within an hour of putting the carpet in the tank this happened.

I'm happy to report that everything in the tank is doing really well so far. Only a little aggression between the clownfish so far but I am watching them very close to make sure they don't get out of hand. If things get to bad I will move one of the pairs to the quarantine tank till I can figure out what to do with them.
