I am so excited had to share. I purchased a stand and canopy and a few other things from an Alabama guy who was great!! Very very helpful and REALLY takes great care of his stuff. My new stand he built...I will post pics when I get the chance. It is Oak and will be holding a 180 gallon (was gonna go 125 wide but husband quickly talking me into the 180). It had a 180 on it. Can't wait to start my thread on the remodel and plumbing we are doing. We are going to plumb into a walk in closet behind where the new tank will be....now this should be interesting! My husband Scott and I will try and work out the plumbing for the holes to be drilled and then we will post the info so that we can get feedback on what everyone thinks before we get it done, in case anyone has some good advice for us BEFORE we have holes drilled! Wish us luck!! I will be on the lookout for equipment and pumps for this 180...and a larger skimmer, so if you all know of or have anything you are not using, just give us a holler!

Congrats!!! Please do post pics and keep track of your progress. There are so many projects that I do where I wish I had a pictorial track record of progress. The only advise that I can give you is to please don't rush into doing anything. Do research and definitely plan your rockwork out. There is another thread going on right now tackling this topic. I think a lot of us make mistakes these days by just piling rock on top of rock without decent structure. I'll never make this mistake again.

you are so right....we are gonna move s l o w in doing this next tank...no need to rush..wanna get it done right and have things planned out.

IME, I am usually too afraid to break down the tank that I'm upgrading, so the other tanks ends up sitting for weeks running... The excitment of the bigger tank is countered by the 'it's doing so good now, why mess with it' attitude. That and dreading the actual transfer... You get over it pretty quick, though;).

thanks for the imput....I know, I have been nervous a long time but my tank IS doing well, but could do better and look better. Once I have seen other tanks, I realize mine is nice, but I can't wait to give my fishies more space to swim. Should be really cool. I am gonna try and post a diagram of how our holes will be drilled this weekend so we can get some members here to give us opinions. We really liked a tank we just saw so I think we are going to have 2 inlets for a closed loop and 8 outputs drilled and a single large overflow in the back center of the tank.....at least we have some ideas started!!
