So it's time to upgrade from my 75, the room my tank is in is narrow and fairly small so tank has to be a max of 60 inches long and 24 wide. I am not sure whats available as a standard out of the box aquarium but looking on glasscages they have a 150 long which will fit the bill, it is 60x24x25. I have heard mixed reviews about them and am not thrilled about driving to TN to pick it up. Are there any other aquarium builders in the area or does anyone know if there is an aquarium in this size available by a major manufacturer.
Thanks in advance Michael

When you think of Glasscages...... think of reptile tanks, in other words, I would never buy a tank from them if I intended for it to hold water. I have seen quite a few cases where people have had the tank crack or explode in their living rooms, dining rooms and do some major damage to the house(which insurance does NOT cover).

There is a manufacturer in Oxford, AL. I can't recall the name, maybe OCEA products/aquariums inc, not really sure, but I have talked to the owner before and been by his shop. They seem like good folks and the only bad review I have heard is the time frame between order placed and tank received. I am planning on designing a custom rimless aquarium soon and I hope to have OCEA build it for me.

If you still want to question Glasscages... just call the Aquatic Critter fish store in Nashville and ask them how they feel about his tanks.

OCEA's prices are very comparable to big aquarium manufacturers so I would find the exact size you want and compare his with AGA, Perfecto, Oceanic, etc.

Ocea did a fantastic job making my rimless 75 gallon tank. I am very happy with my tank. They have great customer service and their price is very reasonable as well.

Ocea also built my 180 gallon setup with matching book cases around it a few years ago(under a different ownership.) I am very pleased with this one as well.

Ocea built my frag tank, too. I'm happy with it.

I have owned several GC tanks over the years, too, and have never had any issues with them, but have heard lots of horror stories. My 280 is a GC. The guy I got it from had a 360 GC that split at the seam (glass actually broke, not a seal separate, which I thought was odd, but...). Silicone is sloppy (build quality of the Ocea frag tank is much better), but it seems pretty robust.

I have 2 Ocea frag tanks as well as a custom Ocea sump that is about 100 gallons or so. All are great as well as the many other Ocea tanks I have seen.

If you can find JR's Reef, he can help fill in the blanks on Ocea. Not sure if he's on RC anymore, but you should be able to find him on the other forum.

I was in OCEA a couple weeks ago and he was open and still doing both tanks and livestock.
I will be up that way the end of the week and will check in.

Or you can call them 256-831-3474

I'm sorry to report that OCEA is closed and has a for sale/lease sign out front.
The phone is also out of service. This is all recent because i was in there 4-6 weeks ago.
