Lighting suggestions...
Hello all, I posted this similar thread in equipment, but think this is the better forum as I have a T5 lighting question..

I have a new 95g 36x24x25 tank. It will be reef with mainly soft corals.

I was thinking of the ATI sunpower 6x39w fixture but am not sure as to whether the 234 wattage will be enough...I know the
powermodule fixture with 8 lamps might be better, but I really want to draw the line on lighting cost....

If not, I was thinking of a Tek 8x39w..

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome....

the sunpower fixture are pretty powerful. I think you will be fine with the 6x39. Especially if your going to have softies. It will also be enough for sps with the proper bulb selection.

another strip isnt going to change the intensity. It will change the coverage area. Intensity depends upon the reflector, bulb, and efficiency of the fixture. And the ATI excels at all three as long as you use the right bulbs.

I've decided to go with T5 lighting. The canopy I will build will have no top so my final question is will an ATI 6x39w sunpower fixture be enough light for a soft coral tank?

Or will I be better off with a Tek 8x39w setup?

Thanks again in advance.
