New tank / New hardware.. Clean before using?

Question.. Is it a bad idea to take say a new tank or new hardware where water will be flowing through and use it right out of the box without cleaning it first?

Should all parts that are going to be used in tank be cleaned with vinegar/water and rinsed with RO/DI before using?

Just to be safe, I think it would be a good idea to wipe it down with vinager just to get dust, and crud off, but frankly I never have,...

just rinse with freshwater. works like a charm

I rinse with water and run my pumps in plain water before using them.

Tap water is fine. Just rinse and dry.
