I am getting a Marineland DD150 and am wondering what my best options are for lights. The tank is 36x 36 by 28 high. I would like to have the option to raise anything but will be starting with softies. I have heard pros and cons to led and fluorescent so I don't know which way to go. I do want something that will really make the colors of the residents to pop. Please help if you can with moving forward.

Thanks

Congratulations on the new aquarium! :D

Cube aquariums larger than 24" x 24" are actually very tricky to light. Often more expensive to illuminate than a traditional rectangular aquarium.

There are numerous options depending on your budget and what you are looking to do. The most-economical option is a T5 lighting System. You can start with a 4-bulb lighting system and possibly add a second 4-bulb system later down the road.

If you are handy, you can also start with a 4-bulb T5 fixture then add a couple of LED strips down the road for extra intensity and a 'pop' in color.

LEDs' are also an option. Two of the MaxSpect Razors would be what we ourselves would go with.

Feel free to give us a call at 800-566-3474 and we will be happy to get more information from you and help to offer more options.
