I would strongly suggest a water change.

And remove the green bubble algae.
I love the rock work, and the corals look happy. Keep it up.:)

I don't plan on doing a water change but just keep emergency water on hand. I've seen and personally run too many tanks that didn't and they worked fine. It's all about balance, not over feeding and a good skimmer.

I'm letting the bubble algae go for a bit longer as I've always had problems my emerald cabs eating a few types of corals I have.

Emerald Crabs eat corals?

Emerald Crabs eat corals?

Good looking tank.

But, your comment about the emerald crab concerned me. I was just commenting on how well my emerald crab had done in ridding the tank of the hair algae I had in abundance and wondering what the emerald crab would eat now that it was all gone. What types of corals does yours tend to munch on?

The three I've had (and all went after them) where my toadstools... in particular the neon green and any with longer polyp extensions. They seem to just hang out next to them till the polyps come out and then I watch them reach up and over the top and pluck them off until it closes again.
The way I ended up catching them was by putting the toadstool on open sand and they run out to attack it at some point.

Thanks... I wish I had a little bit brighter lights but oh well. I'm waiting on the LED's to come down in price and my income to come up ;-)

11 mo Update. Still not 1 water change!

you can't see but my bangii has a really long 'ribbon' trailing off it's dorsal fin that extends to the end of his tail.

what type of dosing do you do if you don't do any water changes......i would assume you would have to dose something.

well RC isn't telling me when I have messages again...

I don't dose anything with any consistency. When my alk starts to get low I add some and usually my calc is low at that point too so I add then as well. There isn't much in my tank that uses calcium so I maybe add every two months or so at this point.
Thats' it.
