yoboyjdizz: About a month and half ago I had a salt overdose due to me trusting a swing arm hydrometer...I've since gotten a refractometer...and feel much better about my salinity..

sacramentodots: I'm not sure, I got it at the last BAR swap, and it was simpley labeled "bonsi"...but it's become one of my favorate frags...it has such bright green poylps...I just wish I could get more purple out of the body, but things chage with time, and I'll see what it does as it grows out..

Justin74: AAAHHH....they're comming right at us...

p-deezy: If you are talking about the ones in the front left there..They started in Feb 04 with about 7-8 poylops..now there are hundreds..

Dave,

I remember the gentleman that brought that in when I was screening for the Rare Group. He wasn't 100% sure it was from the GARF lineage, but did say it was an A. valida. It sure looked like the Purple Bonsai to me, though. If you lowered it, it would probably purple up a bit more.

I just took some topdown pics and I think the color is deff. back. Befor you ask the only thing I did in photoshop was resize them..the greens are real...All that lovely bubble algea is a good green ref.

This is TFP's Paletta baby blue stag, Tyree super blue, and TFP's nodulating green cap...

Cali Tort in the background, and Org. tort in the for ground..which is one of the pieces that I can't seem to get the blue to come out on...I think I may need to lower it in the tank..

Great stuff David! I would agree you can officially claim your colors ;) That bali blue "It's coming right for us!!" If you know what I mean ;) And I think you do! :D
Thanks for sharing the pics, I love top down shots.

I agree raising the Torts, mine is that greenish color towards the base where it doesn't get much light, but is dark blue/purple on the other full light parts......luckily I was able to get a nice piece from Tim(tfp) and it was already well colored.

I don't know about the oregon, but my cali torts go from dark blue to a lighter blue if you place them higher. They tend to get a green base and green polyps in lower lighting. I have 400watts and in order to get that light blue color they have to be really high up. I'm pretty sure that oregon needs more light, just like the cali. Not sure how much higher you can place them. How old are the bulbs?

Bulbs are at 9 months...they get changed in Jan to make the 1year easy to remember...As soon as winter sets in I may put my 250W MH over the tank as I wont have to deal with the heat so much and see what things do..and just alternate lighting between the seasons..
