New tank progress + plumbing question

I bought a sump from someone here on the forums and had planned on getting a different skimmer, but ended up getting a turbofloter 1000.
It takes up a ton of room so I ended up buying a ten gallon tank to house that.
Check out my picture and let me know if i'm asking for trouble and what I can do otherwise.
I used silicone tape to seal off areas where it could leak from

Now check my display out and lemme know what you think
(This is the first tank)
1st day and already spotted a bristle worm

thanks

I can't answer any questions about the skimmer but I think your display tank looks nice. Not too crowded and lots of swimming space. On the other hand you may want to consider more live rock as it will be your primary source of biological filtration.

It is understand your picture correctly --- the output from your tank is going into the skimmer sump, and the output of the skimmer is going into the other sump? I would be worried about having them match so that the skimmer sump doesn't either overflow or run dry.

you should put a tee with gate valves in the line from the overflow box and run it into the sump so you can adjust the water hight in the skimmer tank its going to be tricky though

The output is going straight into the turbofloter, I am hoping no water goes into the 10 gallon tank which holds the skimmer

How many GPH is your main return pump rated for?

I am thinking that you might not be able to match them and you might end up with too much water in your tank.

Take the heater out of your display and put it in your sump somewhere =)

ha! exactly what i was going to say!

yea im gonna put the heater down there when I can get the plumbing together.(It is an eye sore)

I dont want a flood 3 days into my new tank if I can help it

You will like that ocean runner, I have a 6500 and It stays pretty cool. All In all there nice pumps wet or dry also low on wattage.
