special thanks to Ali From amazing reefs in orange ca

some more info
its an 85gallon rimless tank
i had the stand made to be open so i could work on the sump easier and take the entire sump out if i need to
return pump is an eheim
aqua euro usa 250 protein skimmer
sand bed will be 3 to 4 inches

that first baffle is high in the sump, im sure its fine but may overflow onto the carpet on a powercut, have you allowed for the extra water from the tank which will enter the sump on a power cut? not critising just genuinely interested

good eye but what dont see in the picture is that i drilled about 5 2inch holes in the baffle to allow the water not have to go so high and so my skimmer doesnt have to sit in so much water

another thing i was thinking of doling is having my sump sit in a large rubber maid container that way if it doe overflow it will overflow into the container. im going to look for one that is wide and long enough for the sump to sit in but low enough that i can still see whats going on in the sump

ah-well good move, sorry for the comment:) glad about that, looks good and well done for the self build

dude i appreciate the comments thats why i put my stuff on here to get critiqued each step so i can change things if needed before its to late or becomes more work. so if u see anything u dont agree with or think will be a problem let me know

yes but this place says they are to many kb to post so i had to make them smaller. i just finished the plumping and adding 130lbs of sand. the lazy people at home depot wouldnt cut the 8ft piece of pvc pipe for me even when i told them i would buy the whole peice and they could have the rest. so it was a pain driving home with a piece that long in the car. it was kind of funny when the guy left i "found" a pvc cutter and started cutting it myself only got a 16inch piece of before they kicked me out

so all the live rock and livestock to my new tank. the fish look good, the clams are open, so are the coral and my seba anemone already attached so im taking all this as a good sign right

I agree, Siphon Breaks !!!!!!!!!!!!

thats why i took out some of the baffles the water level now sits about 6inches from the bottom. i made an independent fuge that sits in the sump just below the water level all it has in it is some algae and brittle stars. i checked the water level when the tank is off and the sump does not overflow. anyone got anymore suggestions.
