Hi all ! I had a seahorse tank and decided to upgrade and go a different direction i have a 45 gallon red sea tank and I want some ideas for fun interesting different fish -

I am not crazy about clowns or tangs but im open to new ideas - right now i have a bubble coral ( that is stunning ) a few leather corals , acans , i just want some interesting fish ideas. I have considered getting a Lion Fish and a blue spotted puffer ( I know the Blue spot puffer sometimes eats corals we are going to try and get the tank established and add him last because from what i have read if your corals are established you have a better chance of the puffer leaving them alone vs introducing corals after him )

If you go the eel route, try a golden dwarf. The lion would have to be a dwarf, and I would not risk the corals for the puffer. Up to you. If you are looking for more peaceful, reef safe fish, you have a lot of other options than what you listed.

I had a valentini that was a model citizen for about 3 months. After that when ever I added any new coral he was pretty relentless. Never touched anything that was in the tank before I added him.

Puffer is my vote depending on the coral establishment and the temperament of the puffer. Just love watching them and the interest they bring to a tank.

any ideas as for interesting fish to watch. I loved my seahorses because they interacted with me a lot and they were interesting to just sit and watch ... i just dont have anything im crazy about in regards to fish other than the blue spotted puffer and the lion fish . the only thing about the dwarf lion is that they arent very interactive ....
