im new on here and just though id show u all my new tank i picked up

my new tank is 4x2x2 and i found on ebay, the perfect size and the perfect cabinet, glass is unmarked and so is the cabinet came with 35 malawis? tropical so i had to meet my local fish shop dealer at half 10 at night to take them off my hands!!

main reason i didnt like my old tank it was very noisey with only 1 downpipe in to sump so it gargled all night long, i started really geting to me,

so on the new tank i did the herbie overflow set up and lucky for me there was already to downpipes into the sump so it was already set up, all i had to do is set my hight on baffles

i bought a brand new h2ocean 5000 return pump and it was crap!!!, it started humming and rattling anything over 1/2 power so i took it back and they gave me a another 1 same thing, so then i used my old pump of my old tank and its perfect silent running and only downside is its only cabable of 2700 lph but il just leave it on full wack and im thinking off buying new powerheads in main disply witha controller for my turnover.

i also need a bigger sump as this 1 was made for my old tank thats 3foot by 18 x18 so now there alot more water volume its draining my last champer on start up,

im using leds diy lights of ebay that come with a controller that u plug in to laptop and set all 5 strings how u like over 24 hours then just loop, iv been running them bout 8 months with good coral growth and loads of lights the creed leds and give off a really nice shimmer and have full sunrise to sunset settings...

i have 2 clowns, royal tang? engineer goby, 2 sand sifters anemome crab, all a manderin?

Very nice, what skimmer is that? Correct me if I'm wrong, Bubble Magus curve 5? I upgraded to same tank size, I'm running curve 7.

NO mate it's only a nac 3.5, It ran perfect on my old sump with the same pump,

As I said I bought that new ocean 5000lph pump and it was crap!!! So I put my old pump back on and just using that skimmer till I upgrade everything. Iv only got like 7 fish max with loads of live rock, so I'm not sure if it worth saving for time being and buying a 7 myself?

Nice setup! The only criticism I would give is that the rockwork / aquascaping can use some work. It looks a bit like a pile of rock just chucked in. I would try to create swim-thru holes and open up the flow through the rock work to prevent 'dead spots'. This thread has excellent information on creating a aquascape.

I can see what u mean from the pictures, there loads of swim throughs, it's just the way I took picture from the front, the middle of the tank had no rock on it I put some at the front and the back then layered it up, so the middle is just sand and spence for them to hide in, il get some more pictures for u and see if u still think the same
