New tank tracking software

I found this while reading up on the reef builders website. Looks promising, but its still a work in progress. Its supposed to connect to apex, reef angel or digital aquatics controllers. I REALLY like the interface of it and it has a livestock page for fish coral or inverts and you can upload pictures and info about the fish. You can input your parameters, it has a water evap meter which you can set up, calendar for maintenance, also has an acclimation timer. I think its gong to be a really nice system once they get all the features going an get an app for smart phones.

I guess ill have to see how the new APEX fusion software will be once it comes out in a couple months.

Just thought id share.

Company is called Reef Ware and the website is http://www.reefware.com/

cool! a sharp stick in the eye would be better than DA's GUI. Hopefully this would prove to be a better alt.

thnx for posting.

looked at it but no price.

Thats cuz its free. Lol

Here's a screen shot off my tablet of my livestock page.

This software is going to be top notch if they keep up the progress they have been doing so far. I just noticed that they added a notifications section where you add your email and phone number and can choose to be notified via email or SMS. SMS is not working for me yet but the email test came through. Im sure they are still working out the kinks with the SMS. I didnt see the options last night so it must be a new feature.

I think this thing will be very useful if you take the time to set it up properly. Takes a bit of math in some areas but its useful. For example, i added a CALC and ALK media field. I know that i does 33ml of each a day and that should last me about 114 days or so for a gallon of media. I added the start day and the expected date it runs out, 114 days and it shows you a graph and percentage of how much media is left.

It obviously doesnt auto adjust in real time but i cant think of any other software that does it better at the moment both functionality wise and with top notch graphics.

Ive been in contact with the creators of the app, they just added notifications now based on evap, media and parameters. They will be adding notifications for the calendar shortly so you can set calendar items for things like changing filter floss, media, light bulbs, etc.

wow. back when DA released their software you had a graph timeline, but i think they pulled it out for the reefkeeper lite cause mine stopped working.

trying this!

what did you use for your network settings. I can't get it to connect with my .net module

I just typed in the WAN address. I didnt work for me at first either. He told me i had the http in and didnt need to, if you still cant get it to work click the "feature request" link at the bottom and write them an email. Thats the only way i was able to initially get in touch with them.

aww, its web based :( bet they are going to try and start charging monthly when they get past 'beta' and some subscribers.

1) I've got a RKL and my graphing works fine. I would attach a pic but I've had to reset my .net - I lost connection while trying to tether ReefWare and it together. So you should be able to access your graphs. It can be problematic once in a while - also make sure your flashplayer is up to date.

2) Maybe they will sell ad spots instead of subscriptions... that would be cool!

Anyone connect a Reef Angel? What do you put in the username and password fields if there isnt anything to populate?

Cheers
