Do NOT use water from the Culligan machine at Walmart. Even though it says it's been serviced, don't believe it. I've had to use it in emergency situations in the past and it went well. The last time i used it, my tank crashed. Some of bottled stuff they sell might be ok, but i will never trust that Culligan water again.

Why not use the Culligan water?
The machine over here in Hoover has 0 TDS unless you pump over 40 gallons. Then we were getting a TDS of 25.
Is there any other reason not to use this water?
How about PH? It should be 7.4. Right?

Thanks for the heads up kg4izw,

I have been getting my water from Aquarium Imports until I can get an RO/DI unit for my apartment. I have a 30 gal. drum, I can get one water change and top off water for about a month.

The only problem I am having now is Aptasia. I have tried just about everything that I can find to get rid of them but no luck. I used some stuff that I picked up at AI, thought I was making progress but they have come back with a vengence. Does anyone know of a fish that will eat them and not my coral?

One encouraging thing is that I am breeding snails. I am not sure what kind thay are but there are about 30 of them in hte tank now. I started with 2 Turbo and 2 Astaria, but these don't look like either. I have tried to take pics, but the camera can't focus that close.
