I am getting ready to make the small step from my 29 gallon to a 55 long.
As of now I plan to use my original 29 as the sump. I am going to put 2x250 w 14k MH lamps above it and 2 florescent 50/50 bulbs. I plan to use Eco Miracle Mud in the sump.
I am using Ocean's Blend 2 part calcium supplement as my only additive, but plan to switch to Bionic when this runs out. (Any suggestions)
For circulation i plan to use my current Mag 950 pump as a return and set up some sort of closed loop with my spare mag 700.
I will be leaving home and starting a new job soon which will keep me away from my apartment for 2 or 3 days at a time...I am considering some sort of top off system.
I would like to have some suggestions for other needed equipment to help keep my system stable while i'm away, and leave me able to house almost any livestock that i may choose. (Clams, SPS, LPS, etc.)
