New tank!

Well I started getting some kind of problem with the front two seams of my 70 acrylic tank. One of our LFS's was having thier annual tank blowout special. Good timing I guess.

I've made the full (well almost but as far as I think I'm going) switch over to sps although I kept some zo's a leather, and 2 candy cane's. But no more shrooms, anthelia, xenia, etc. My yellow fiji leather is ticked off still.

Here's some pics of the progress of my 24 hour transfer. I think I need more rock but my sump holds a lot of my rock. Throw some aquascaping idea's at me please.

OK, some pics of the progress. Give me some aquascape opinions too. I think I need more rock in the display but I also like it more open.

Nice lookin tank, imo i would relocate the orange monti cap,it will soon b blocking light to other corals.Just my 2 cents.

I might take it to the far right and let it shade some sand and end rocks. I might just take it to the LFS or put it on our local forum too and start over with one of the 1/2 dozen frags I've got from it in the frag tank. I think I'm going to shelf/cave the cove and build the rock higher on the left too. There's a good sized rbta over on the back side of that left pile and it's just not showing right now. But it would like to be higher and closer to the light as well.

The partial manifold you see I only took across the back and couldn't figure out why I could see mine and others can't. Duh, they usually run on the top of the frame with only the outlets down in the water showing. I was under such a time pressure that I wasn't thinking about it right.

Added some more rocks and caves. Stirred up the water a little but took the pics anyway. Here's the pics:

I like where that oringe cap is now.

I would definitally put a background on the tank though, either paint it or use one of the slipsheets to make a cleaner look.

Great tank!

Looks good !

BTW That acrylic tank looks like mine just smaller.

Acrylic Creations ? If so please let me know the time frame you bought the tank and how long you had it .

Clkwrk, that was where I got it. I just sent a pm back to you before I read this thread. I bought it 2 years ago off of ebay actually. In May to July time frame. It was a very clear tank and until this problem I had really felt like it was of great quality. The cuts and edges were great, nice and smooth. I'm really surprised by this. I'll talk to you in pm about this and what you think I should do.

My wife says I need a background on this new one. I don't think she wants to wait for corraline. What kind of paint should I use and is it fluid enough that I could use a little mini roller to roll it on? If I had more time I could have sprayed it on. I did set this tank out just far enough that I can paint the wall behind it too! :D

Here's a pic of those front seams for anyone interested. This doesn't show up as well as when it had saltwater in it and the lights of the tank really made these stand out. This is just with freshwater sitting on the back patio.

The first two are from the front (looking through the front piece of acrylic and the end of the side pieces. Notice wht looks like scratches or something in the seam.

Felt like taking some pics. I have some stringy diatomes that aren't extreme just a little annoying so I turkey baster blast it a couple times a day for my own viewing pleasue. I'll be glad when they're done.
