New Tank

Looks like it will be a good unit, bummer on the directions. It almost sounds like the company you are working with doesn't have very good customer service (ie: long wait, unanswered calls and then when they do ship you a unit they don't give you any detail on how to set it up!) btw, did you need the booster pump because you are on well-water?

Well I went with Spectrapure on the water system for all the others couldn't really head me in the right direction. Yes they did make me pull my hair out at times but I hope I have a solution. I've always been impressed with the company up until this point. Maybe it was the person I dealt with, but I think the individual I worked with is one of the head people there. As long as it works I don't care at this point.

The booster pump is to pump the water back through the di filter from the storage container after the ro unit and the degassing chamber. Sounds like fun, huh?:)

Speaking of helping out and since you declined my previous suggestions... What about a 420gal mollie tank? They will live in the freshwater coursing through its lines and then you can have saltwater mollies eventually too! If you need more color then... guppies!!!! Im sure you could fit about 8-900 of em in there :). I can picture it now... guppies/mollies swimming through acro branches...

Those are all great suggestions, however, I'll let you try out some of those ideas on your next system and then you can work out all the details and bugs and then get back to me. Saavy?

Beside Ray, I talked to the fish god (PCP Joe) about using a molly to cycle my new tank. Joe told me that it would work great but to make sure I got it out before I started putting saltwater fish in because the mollies carry a bacteria that can be harmful.

Tom, good luck with the degassing! Nothing like having water that needs to, well, fart...

The latest. Since the 3 GEN X pumps mounted to the side of the tank stank were making more noise than I could live with, I made the decision to invest in another Dolphin 4700 and plumb that for the loops. I just finished firing it up for a water test and it is 10 times better. Here are a few pics of the new plumbing for the loops and the ro/di unit attached to the wall next to the sink. I'm determined to get the ro unit operational and START MAKING WATER THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!

New Tank

Tom,
The pvc drain on the left side is off by 4.5 degrees to the right.
Is that acceptable????????? :)

Wow Tom, I bet the guys at Home Depot love you! Hopefully you don't have any more setbacks, I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the front side of the tank soon.

My gosh...you noticed that!!! My standards are slipping as I run into more problems. At this rate I might be using duct tape instead of pvc cement for the joints!:D

Everything looks like its coming along... uhhh swimingly lol. Atleast you know if you ever have a plumbing issue at home you wont have to call out right? hehe

I do hope you never took anything Ive ever said to seriously since 90% of what I say can be taken with a grain of salt... sea salt ehehehehe :D

I say we put the passenger compartments of that h3 to good use jim and help tom with his salt mixing!
