im setting up a new clam tank 36x18x16tall what do ypu guys recommend for substate bare bottom 1"coarse sand or 2-3" sugar sized sand any input would be helpful

I found my clams to be happier with the fine grained, easier to attach and open...

I like having the fine sand and placing a flat rock inside the sand. This way the clam can attach its foot to the rock.
