Hey guys,

I have been reading a lot of your posts and recently set up a 55 gal tank next to my reef tank in order to get a pair of maroon gold bar clowns a fish I have always wanted. I got lucky(?) when someone in my area was selling a mating pair thet were 7 years old with a couple of anenomes. Now I may get the opportunity to try my hand at breeding them if I can make them happy.

My big question is what type of tankmates can I have that are helpful for my tank and wont bother the clowns. The owner had triggers tangs and all sorts of other stuff. I want to get maybe one or two more and thats it. Maybe a lawnmower blenny?

Thanks for any info and I will be doing some more reading in case i get some eggs. I have a nano I could set up for the babies but I need to make the parents happy first.

To check out my Clowns check the bottom of this thread.

Have you considered raising the fry with the parents? I am not sure if this is possible, but I would consider it before adding other fish.

If it is possible it would be convenient to keep the fry in the parent tank.

Cabrego,

I would try it if it is possible but I think that with the overflows and powerheads I might loose them all. Maybe a guupy fry tank that sits in the big tank? The problem with that is that it will make me make my nano ito a frag tank:rolleyes:

Gresham yes my foam. You can see it in the link. I will try to figure out if I want to breed rotifers or just get your live stuff when the time comes. i live close to Jofish in Petaluma so I heard they were going to carry it:)

I'd suggest breeding them yourself.

I've been following your WCR thread from the start :)

I've heard the same about JoFish. I still need to go up there.
