Here's a little background information on my tank...

29 Gallon FOWLR

Inhabitants:

Pair Indian Ocean Ocellaris Clowns
Yellow Watchman Goby
Candy Stripe Pistol Shrimp
Nassarius Snail
Turbo Snail
2 Dwarf Zebra Hermit Crabs
40-50 pounds of live rock
20 pounds of arag-alive reef sand

Equipment:

Maxi-Jet 600 Power Head
150 watt Visi-therm Stealth Heater
RENA XP2 Canister Filter (Rinsing the foam out monthly and changing the carbon)
Coralife Double Fixture @ (2) 96 watt 6700k bulbs (192 w total)

The tank has been up and running for about a month. I just added the light and the filter yesterday.

Can I add corals at this point? If so, what would be good hardy, easy to take care of corals to get me started in the hobby? Do I NEED lunar lights for the corals? What kind of chemicals would I need to add?

i would wait a bit longer, a month is not very long. if you are set on corals i would go with some zoanthids. but i would get a protein skimmer before i got any sps.

Sounds good. I got a visi-jet ps the other day, but it's horrible. Microbubbles EVERYWHERE. I'm going to get a CSS 65 here in about 8 months. I should be able to do corals by then, right?
