Welcome to the most addicting hobby around!! Seriously, it will get to the point where you feel like a kid in a candy store...

Tell us about your setup, now is the best time to work out the kinks and make sure everything is done the best you can...

It is better to do it now then when fully stocked...

Thanks, about my set up, I have of course a 180, I have a converted 55 turned into a sump/fuge. I have a nova extreme pro 72" light, 3 maxijet 1200 powerheads(may get the upgrades for them) with a wavemaker powerstrip, I have a euroreef skimmer, and quiet one pump. I have 180lbs of aragonite 80 of it is arag alive, and I have 200lbs of dead base rock, which I will add 20-30lbs of live rock with it. I started my cycle 2 weeks ago with 2 raw shrimp, and so far my ammonia spiked to .5 last week and now it is 0 and my nitrites are almost 0. I was told to cycle again with uncured live rock because I had a very light cycle, and no live rock( does that sound right?) so I will try that as soon as the store gets the uncured rock in. I am in no hurry, trying to take my time and do it right. I am having trouble trying to figure out what to do with my fuge because the way my uncle built it, I do not know if I can actually use it, hard to explain you need to see it to understand. I will post some pics soon.

Sounds great, as for the uncured live rock, you wont need to add any shrimp to it once you get it in the tank.. The tank should cycle almost immediately when adding that much dead rock... Eventually all your rock will be live...

As for the fuge pics will definatley help, and believe me someone on here will find a way to make almost anything work...

What type of tank are you planning on running, a reef tank, or Fish Only With Live Rock... That wil determine a lot of things, i am guessing with a fuge you are going reef... If thats the case Those maxijets are not going to be enough flow in that size tank...

Most run about 40 times turnover from just there powerheads... Also what about filtration?

Lastly, make sure you get some good test kits it will pay off in the long run..

Hello, welcome to our TBRC forum! As you see a lot of great people here willing to help and share their wisdom. Can you post a pic of your setup?

Thanks everyone, so the maxijets will not work in a reef? what if I got the kits to upgrade them? I will try to post some pics of my fuge soon.

upgrade the maxjets with the SURE FLOW MODS. The other mods don't match up. Especially with a wavemaker. You may even need more in a 180.
