New to hobby!! HELP ME

sa4apygu.jpg

My condy anemone has doubled in size. Is there a way to contain their growth? Like i dont want him to take up more than 12 inches wide in the tank but obviously i dont wanna just snip at his tentacles lol

Cant express enough how all these vibrant colors my rocks are turning makes me excited! This rock was white when the tank finished its cycle a couple weeks ago.

Made a homemaid canopy tonight with 2x4 and plywood lol 14 inches tall worked out well to put lights well above water and increase the spread of the reefbrite

You should get rid if the HOB filters if you can. You should really run a skimmer and if you're dead set against a sump, a purpose built in tank or HOB skimmer is your only option. You're also going to eventually need internal power heads to provide the flow needed to keep corals. Good luck.

I dont really have a place for a carbon bag so really im using the hob filter for the bacteria on bio wheels and i change the carbon inside filter as needed. I have heard a lot of people say trash it but i dont see what it could be hurting so i havent removed it yet.

Noticed you said that you have a snowflake eel, don't know if anyone else commented on it. It is a carnivore, your CUC and small fish will disappear when the eel gets bigger. Thats not saying it will or wont eat your livestock...just something to think about.

Good luck and welcome to the hobby :)

Worst mistake ever this morning... Go in to take my filter out and what happens? I pull the filter out and there are these things the size of pencil erasers flicking around like crazy so i run to the sink freaking out ( first thought was somehow a waterbug laid eggs in my filter ) i start washing it off and these things are flipping everywhere while my girlfriend snaps this pic..... Soon to find out i just washed amphipods down the drain.
