hello im completely new to the hobby and would like to get other opinions of more experienced hobbyists. This is how I have my 29g sump refugium setup currently, the middle changer is where the refugium will be located and the left chamber is my return. In drain chamber where the water returns from the tank to the sump, there is a 1" x 8" horizontal slit about 6" up on the divider that leads into the refugium. My main display tank is a 58g with built in overflow I plan on doing a 1" sand bed. I bought a second hand reef octopus xp1000sss real cheap on CL, using a 9.5b as my return pump. Would really appreciate any advice or thoughts or just anything.

To reduce flow without forcing the pump and do an extra cycle through the skimmer and refuge or keep water flow in return or add an auxiliary latter? I'm not sure exactly why but I felt as if I would need it in the future or regret not doing it.

Haha took me a second to put that user name together. Classic. I would turn the sump around drop the t and run multiple return nozzles in the dt for more random flow. But I don't know I say keep it simple. Your way would probably work fine just seems unnecessary.

looks goog to me the y thing has me a bit thrown... if your afraid of too much flow get smaller pump itll pay for itself in electricity usage but looks nice simple for tank size skimmer weill work fine ..... look into ato as well but im sure your ontop of that

Thaks for the replies you all. I think im just going to run it this way for now see how it goes hopefully ill start the cycle soon
