New to hobby

Hi all I'm newish to the hobby I just started a 45 gallon oceanic tech tank about 4 months ago.

Welcome to the forum. As you are starting out, patience is the key in this hobby. Also on your free time, read, read, and read some more and come on the forum to ask questions on things that you are unsure about. Don't trust your local fish store.

+1. Don't trust your LFS. I'm getting to the point now where I'm about to start ordering everything I need online exclusively. They'll tell me anything to get me to open my wallet.

I don't feel like this is the case all the time. My lfs has been very helpfull and has actually steered me away from making purchases when my tank isn't ready.
