Fish Crazy
Hey guys! After 9 years in the hobby I'm finally graduating to a large tank, well its large to me but yo some of you would only imagine it as a sump haha. Its a 150 gallon 72x18.5x26.5. The largest tank I currently own is a 40 gallon breeder. So basically I'm just looking for some decent ideas as far as equipment goes since everything is so upscaled from what I'm used to. I'm looking to start off with a fish only with live rock. So basically I'm just trying to figure out what kind of return pumps skimmer equipment should I be looking at? Any kind if advice would be awesome! I'm a nano guru but larger tanks I know nothing about.

Start skimming the threads in here.... There are A LOT of good build threads to choose from.

Welcome to the big reefers club. I am a probie... I only have a 180... In a few weeks I should have a 180dt+120dt+75sump piped together. So I will graduate to a freshman at least.

Get a good sized skimmer, a large sump, and a power head or two on a battery backup in case of power failure (it will happen when you least expect it). I prefer Tunze others prefer Vortech. Take a lot of time and research the fish you want to keep and their compatibility. Then QT all new fish, and I recommend medicating with cupramine and prazipro but others may disagree.

All of my ideas were some one else's on this forum at some point lol. Check the builds and
learn the equipment. Can't wait to see your thread.

I've been looking around the forums now foe a while this should be a pretty elaborate build! Going to start construction of the stand and canopy soon.
