I have a well established 75 with sps that i ahve had for years so im not a newbie, but i aquired a 65 tall tank for a un beatable deal
it came with 4(39w) t-5s will this be enough light for lps and
which ones would do best ,
P.s. Id like to know any thing else that might be help full on this , i have not filled the tank yet, not going to until i get all info on what im putting in there, so i can have this tank setup right from the begiinning
How tall is the tank? If you are doing nothing but LPS in the tank you should be fine. I have two LPS dominated tanks and one of them is a 29BC with stock PCs and everything is doing great and keeping color. A little more light will pop those colors alot more. They don't need as clean water as SPS and actually they love "dirty" water for a couple exeptions.
Yes that will be a nice LPS tank IMO. Many favia, chalice and acans do very well in lower lighting. My LFS had a 90 gallon LPS tank with a 4 bulb T5 and it did great. They just switched to LED but they had the T5s on it for years. Great color with many LPS on the sandbed but also through the entire height of the tank.
