Hey its been awhile since I've been on here but still try to keep up. We'll as the title states I have a new project ahead of me :). I went to Gibsonville today and picked up a 30x30x25 cube for next to nothing. But I need to reseal it and build a stand for it. I know there are countless threads on resealing and videos but none are of cubes.(looking for some pointers)The front pane has a small chip on the bottom corner. Idk if it's me being paranoid or what but Idk if I can sleep at night knowing it's there. So we will start this off as a repair diy then turn it into a full build thread. I will be taking down my 40 set up and moving everything over to this cube. I'm excited. Hopefully I'll get a few followers for pointers and advice for taking on this beautiful project.

I've never resealed an entire tank before just did a patch job on my 90 which is no longer with me (side panel blew out while at work). I plan on using rtv108 to reseal with. And replacing the chipped panel with starphire(?). The tank is 1/2" all around. Also forgot to add. This tank is rimless.

Here are pics of the tank. The last one is of the chip. The inspection sticker on the tank says Oct of 2015. So the tank is almost brand new.

If I use a very strong epoxy or silicone to attach an L bracket made of glass to that corner of the tank do you think it would be ok. the stand I'm making for it will have the tank drop down into it about an inch and will be very tight forming to the tank. I want to reseal it but am nervous to cause I've never done it and all the seals on this tank look perfect. Buying a new one is just not cost effective seeing as the average price of a RR 30x30x25 is between 7-900 depending on where you go

I picked this tank up for $50 and when I arrived to look at it he had it full of water so I know it doesn't leak. Its just that chip keeps popping up in the back f my mind. maybe I'm overthinking this.

You're not overthinking it at all. That's a pretty gnarly gouge out of the corner. If it were me, I would either replace the glass, or get a new tank. (I had that same RR marineland 93 cube for about 2 years and paid roughly $550 for it new with the glass top.) I've learned that the tank is the cheapest part of this hobby, but can easily give you the most grief. At one point I had a small 20g rimless that i used as a QT and it had a very tiny chip out of the corner. After a year and a half the glass split upwards diagonally from that tiny chip. Luckily i was home when it happened. It may hold water now, but it has a chance of causing you headache and $$$ down the road.
