I have a 55 gal. 20 inch tall tank. It has vho t-5 lighting and is 108 watts.54w 10k and 54w 460nm. Tank is 9 months old and doing great. Added Rhodactis spp. and Actinodiscus spp. 2 days ago. I was wondering if it is normal for the Rhodactis to puff up big time when the lights go out ? Or should I shade them more because they are getting too much light ? Thanks for any info. on this matter. Mike.

I have twice as much t5's as you on the same size tank. I am sure it is not too much light. During acclimation you should supposedly keep low in the tank and gradually move them up higher or you could shorten your photoperiod.
Any Pics?

Thank you for the response. They both are doing great now. I guess, I was just a little nervous. My first corals after 4 years in the hobby. I have been doing my share of reading about other corals as well and it seem's that it is kind of tough to figure what else I can put in there. Any suggestions would be great. Peaceful ones if possible. My sister has the camera rite now,so pictures will be a few days away. Thanks again, Mike.

WOW, thats perfect. I figured from my reading that I could get away with having those in my tank. Just wanted to hear it from someone else. The funny thing is that there is guy in my town who is selling those types of corals on Bostonreefers. Thanks again, Mike.
